Sausage, Peppers, and Onions


Ingredients

3-4 peppers (one of each color)

1 large sweet onion

4-5 Turkey Italian Sausages

1 tablespoon fennel seeds

1 tablespoon of your favorite Italian herb mix

Sea salt, to taste

Directions

1. Cut the onions and peppers into thin strips.

2. Heat a large skillet to medium-high heat.

3. Squeeze the sausages out of their casings into sausage bites into the hot pan. Sauté them in the pan with the fennel seeds and pasta sprinkle until they are cooked halfway. 

4. After the sausages are almost cooked through, add the onions and peppers, covering the pan and cooking until the veggies are tender.

5. Once the veggies are tender, drain the juice from the meat and return the pan to the stove.

6. Add the salt to taste.

7. Turn up the heat to slightly brown the sausage and veggies.

8. Once the dish is slightly browned, lower the heat, sauté for a little bit longer, and then let it sit for a couple minutes with the stove heat turned off, but the pan still on the burner.

9. Serve.
